Review of Collective Works Themed Atatürk and Children in Tepebaşı

Tepebaşı Mayor Dr. Ahmet Ataç's collective work produced within the scope of the 18th International Eskişehir Terracotta Symposium was presented by the guest of the symposium, Prof. He examined it on site together with Bilgehan Uzuner. In the work where the work is in its final stage; The founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is told together with children and flowers.

The work, prepared with the joint efforts of the symposium artists, is a first in Turkey not only with its artistic quality but also with its social meaning. The monument, shaped by the joint production of artists from different countries and Turkey, will have a permanent place in the city's memory with the contribution of children. In the production of collective work; Ayşegül Veryeri, Ercan Dural, Tuba Önder, Nilgün Salur, Özgür Yıldız, Ümit Gürsoy, Mariko Okubo from Japan, and Chinese artist Yin Chang living in France worked together.

The collective work themed "Ataturk and Children" also includes flowers produced by children together with the symposium artists. Flowers shaped by the imagination and labor of children will be one of the important parts of the monument. Thus the work; It will turn into a Republic monument that brings together the common memory of artists, children and Eskişehir residents.

In his evaluation during the inspection, Mayor Ahmet Ataç said, "This work is not just a monument made of terracotta; it is a symbol of the trust the Republic has in children, the unifying power of art and common effort. This work, which tells Atatürk with children, flowers and hope, will leave a very strong mark, befitting the art city of Tepebaşı. This is the first time such a comprehensive collective work is produced in Turkey. With the effort of our artists, the excitement of our children and the ownership of our people, this work will be one of the important values ​​of our city as well as our country." he said.

Tepebaşı Municipality is preparing to determine the name of the collective work with the opinions and suggestions of Eskişehir residents. Prominent names for the monument include "Atatürk's Children's Garden", "Atatürk's Garden", "Atatürk's Children", "Atatürk's Flower Garden" and "Atatürk's Flowers".

Mayor Ataç emphasized the meaning of determining the name of the work with the participation of the public and said, "This work will be the work of the people. For this reason, we want to name it together with our fellow citizens. We want our children, families and all Eskişehir residents to find their own feeling and memory in this monument."
