Granada CF has closed its official store and the ticket offices of the Nuevo Los Cármenes Stadium due to the earthquakes registered throughout the day in this Andalusian city and its metropolitan area, as announced this Tuesday by the club.
"Due to the seismic movements of the last few hours and for security reasons, the official store and the stadium ticket offices will remain closed until further notice," the club reported in a statement. Since this morning, the capital and its metropolitan area have been suffering several tremors above 4 degrees of magnitude that have caused a lot of fear in the population. Some of the first incidents that are becoming known, with debris falling from buildings and trees onto vehicles, have been recorded in the Zaidín neighborhood, right where the Nuevo Los Cármenes Stadium is located.
The Granada City Council asks for "calm"
The Granada City Council has also decreed the "temporary" closure of "all municipal buildings and facilities open to the public" following the earthquakes that occurred this Tuesday morning after the magnitude 5 earthquake on August 15 with its epicenter in Alhendín. In statements to Canal Sur radio, the mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, has asked for calm from the residents of the capital who recognizes that they are suffering "anxiety and nervousness" in the face of the "strong" aftershocks that have occurred in recent hours.
"We cannot alarm but we can be vigilant," added Carazo, who urged people to follow the official channels on social networks to be informed. In a very initial first assessment, the first mayor has confirmed damage to cornices but municipal services are deployed to carry out an "exhaustive review" of buildings in order to verify what the consequences of these new earthquakes have been. "We have no evidence of severe structural damage," said Carazo, who also has no evidence of injuries in the capital.
First damage to vehicles and buildings

"Experts point out that it is possible that seismic movements and aftershocks continue in the area, and it is important to know how we should act in these situations. Let's follow the advice and maintain serenity, please," he said in a publication on his official account on the 'X' social network.
Partial evacuation of the Alhambra
The Board of Trustees of the Alhambra has preventively evacuated the Nasrid Palaces and the Alcazaba and has interrupted public visits to these spaces due to the earthquakes of up to magnitude 4.8 recorded this Tuesday in Granada. As sources from the monument, historically the most visited in the country, have informed EFE, a team is continuously analyzing the situation and has decided for the moment to preventively vacate the Alcazaba.
Visits to the Nasrid Palaces have also been interrupted, although for now they continue normally in Partal and Generalife while specialists evaluate the impact of the earthquakes. The provincial council has also closed its administrative buildings, museums and sports centers.
Three minor injuries and one hospital transfer
The first vice president and counselor of the Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, has confirmed that three people have been injured as a result of a new 4.8 magnitude earthquake recorded this Tuesday in Granada and its metropolitan area. As reported in a media briefing, the three injured are "minor" and one of them, a young minor, has been taken to the hospital.
The Board keeps the Andalusian Emergency Plan activated in the emergency phase, operational situation 1, in the face of seismic risk in Granada since last Friday's magnitude 5 earthquake with its epicenter in the Granada town of Alhendín. Sanz has indicated that the advisory committee for the emergency plan for seismic risk will be convened "imminently."
