TikTok reaches settlement with Alabama to resolve youth addiction charges

TikTok has reached a settlement with Alabama to resolve allegations that the platform designed addictive features for young people and deceived the public. The agreement provides for the payment of at least 100 million dollars in 45 days. However, the figure could rise up to 300 million. TikTok must also impose a two-hour limit per day, restrictions on nighttime access and notifications for parents. The plea agreement comes a few days after the trial began.
