Borussia Dortmund have signed Dutch midfielder Joey Veerman. The 27-year-old has signed a contract with the German runners-up until the summer of 2031, as Dortmund announced. According to media reports, Borussia Dortmund is using an exit clause and paying around 22 million euros to the Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.
“Joey is a really great footballer who has a lot of creativity, technique and overview,” said Dortmund sporting director Ole Book about the new signing. “He showed at PSV Eindhoven and in the Dutch national team that he can consistently perform well at the top level.”
Veerman appeared in 198 games for PSV Eindhoven, scoring 31 goals and providing 67 assists. With the club from Eindhoven, the 27-year-old was three times Dutch champion and twice Dutch cup winner. Veerman has played 16 games for the national team so far, but he was not nominated for the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Midfielder Nathan Ngoumou is moving from Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach to OGC Nice in France. Both clubs announced this. According to media reports, Gladbach will receive a transfer fee of around 500,000 euros for the 26-year-old, including a share in the sale. Nice did not provide any information about the duration of the contract.
Striker Niclas Füllkrug is about to return to Werder Bremen. The striker appeared for a medical check in Bremen on Tuesday morning. The 33-year-old is set to go on loan from Premier League relegated West Ham United. Füllkrug played for Werder in his youth and returned from Hannover 96 in 2019. Winkler signed a four-year contract in Anderlecht and will then also play internationally.
