TRE-RJ rejects Mariana de Souza's candidacy due to links with organized crime

The judges of the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-RJ) unanimously rejected the candidacy registration of Mariana de Souza, from the PP, for the Chamber of Deputies.

According to the Public Electoral Ministry (MPE), she is the wife of Alagoas Comando Vermelho (CV) trafficker Wilson Marques de Albuquerque, Zé Dirceu or Alex, a fugitive from justice.

The candidate would have received donations for the campaign from people and companies linked to the criminal organization.

“Once again the court is responding to organized crime,” said the president of TRE, Claudio de Mello Tavares.
