Trump Shares AI Video of Destruction of Iranian Jarg Island

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, shared this Sunday a video generated with artificial intelligence on Truth Social, which shows the destruction of the Iranian island of Jarg, the country's main oil terminal.

The images simulate bombings: a storage tank and an oil tanker explode, seen from an aircraft. The message reads: "Jarg Island being shattered!!! President DJT."

The publication comes hours after the first US attack against Iranian targets in a month, which reached the island of Larak, in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the United States Central Command (Centcom), the bombing of the Iranian Larak was aimed at destroying rockets loaded with sea mines that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard intended to place in the strait, a strategic route for the global transportation of oil.

"Iran generated the threat and the US military eliminated it to protect civilian mariners, commercial shipping and the free flow of global commerce," the agency said.

In retaliation, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed to have attacked the Al Azraq and King Hussein bases in Jordan with missiles and drones. However, the Jordanian Army reported that its defense systems intercepted the eight missiles launched, without causing damage or casualties.

Jarg Island, for its part, has been the target of Trump's threats on several occasions since the start of the war that the United States and Israel are waging against Iran.

The island concentrates most of Iran's oil exports, making it a target of high symbolic and economic value. For this reason, in July, a US bombing had already hit its facilities, leaving at least eight Iranian soldiers dead.

Trump then justified this escalation by accusing Tehran of threatening freedom of navigation in Hormuz.
