Trump announced that South Korea will invest $200 billion in the USA

Trump made an announcement about these investments at the White House.

Stating that South Korea will invest up to 200 billion dollars in the USA, Trump said that within the scope of these investments, a 6 gigawatt electricity generation facility in Texas, 8 new large-scale nuclear power plants and an LNG pipeline in Alaska will be built.

"We are delighted to announce one of the largest energy infrastructure investments in American history," Trump said. he said.

Stating that the announced investment package is a big step towards securing the USA's critical energy supply chain, strengthening the country's dominance in the energy field and making its partnership with South Korea and the entire Pacific region stronger than ever, Trump reminded that South Korea should invest hundreds of billions of dollars within the scope of the trade agreement, and in return, it reduced the tariff rate applied to the country.

Trump claimed that the natural gas power plant to be built in Texas "will be one of the largest power plants ever built in the world" and stated that the 8 new nuclear reactors to be built across the country will reinforce the USA's position as "the world's leading nuclear energy producer".

Referring to the Alaska LNG pipeline, Trump stated that the line will provide approximately 4 billion cubic feet of LNG shipment per day.

According to the post on the White House's social media account, the investment is expected to provide employment for thousands of people and reduce Americans' energy costs.

US President Donald Trump stated that they reached a trade agreement with South Korea in July 2025 and that this country would invest 350 billion dollars in the USA.

In South Korea, a decree on the implementation of the "Korea-USA Strategic Investment Management Special Law", which includes a $350 billion investment commitment to the USA, was adopted in June.

In the investment package, an investment of $150 billion was envisaged for shipbuilding cooperation and $200 billion for other strategic sector collaborations.
