Emphasizing that the people voted in favor of replacing the current Netanyahu government in the general elections held on October 27 in Israel, Eisenkot stated that they, as the opposition bloc, are working to establish a new government as soon as possible.

Arguing that the relationship between Israel and the United States is "a partnership between people, built over generations, based on common democratic values," Eisenkot continued his words as follows:

"Under my leadership, we will renew and deepen this partnership, strengthen the foundations that have built on the joint support of Democrats and Republicans for years, and strive to move the entire Middle East forward."

In the midterm elections held on November 3 in the USA, Republicans, led by President Donald Trump, lost their majority in Congress and were defeated by the Democrats.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his coalition partners did not comment on the US midterm elections, in which the Democrats achieved a great victory.

The Israeli press described the Republicans' loss of the majority in Congress in the midterm elections as a "heavy blow" for Trump and Israel.
