Trump hints at building a pool in the White House press room

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, hinted this Sunday that he will build a swimming pool on the site currently occupied by the White House press room, in the midst of his new offensive against the media.

The Republican published on his Truth Social network an image divided into two: a photograph of the current press room, accompanied by the message "before", and a recreation of a swimming pool with the text "after".

The message "fake news" also appears above the first image, while the recreated pool, decorated with the characteristic gold decorations that Trump likes, would be dedicated to former President Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933-1945).

The current White House press room has been in operation since 1970 and was built on the old covered swimming pool that Roosevelt had installed in 1933.

Trump's message comes in the midst of his new offensive against the press, after last week he vetoed access to the White House by the networks CNN and MS Now and the newspaper Politico, dissatisfied with their coverage of his Administration.

A judge on Thursday ordered the media to regain access to the White House after they reported a violation of freedom of expression, protected by the First Amendment of the US Constitution.
