Trump says Iran war will end soon, stipulates nuclear power

In his interview with KCMO radio, US President Donald Trump touched on the war with Iran and said that the process will end soon.

Trump stated that the Tehran administration should sit at the table and said, "Iran has to make a deal and we need an assurance that they will never have nuclear weapons."

It was revealed that before these statements, Trump was directly informed about possible attack options against Iran at a meeting held at the White House.

Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper, citing unidentified American officials, claimed that US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Michael Erik Kurilla personally briefed Trump.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chief General Dan Caine also attended the meeting.

WSJ pointed out that it is a rare situation for the CENTCOM Commander to directly brief the president and commented that this step may indicate that the USA is approaching comprehensive military attacks.

Possible military steps against Iran brought political reactions in Washington.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, in his statement on the social media platform X, described the Iran attack plans presented to them together with a group of senators as "crazy".

Arguing that these plans would have dangerous consequences, Murphy said, "This step will lead to a devastating escalation of tension and will likely destroy our commitment to the rule of law."
