Trump posts AI-generated images and unverified stock market claims on Truth Social

Quick Look

President Donald Trump spent over 10 hours on Truth Social posting AI-generated images and unverified claims, including stating he made hundreds of billions of dollars on stocks for the U.S., while sharing depictions of Iran's destruction and asserting U.S. ownership of territories like the Moon and Lake Ontario.

AI-generated summary

Why It Matters

President Trump has frequently used AI-generated images on Truth Social, particularly during the ongoing U.S.-Iran war, to assert political narratives and personal achievements. His administration took a 10% stake in Intel in August 2025, now worth over $50 billion. Senators have previously urged the SEC to investigate Truth API for potential securities law violations.

President Donald Trump posted a stream of AI-generated images and a series of sweeping and unverified claims on Truth Social on Sunday, including saying that he has made hundreds of billions of dollars on stocks and other holdings for the U.S.

The 80-year-old commander in chief spent more than 10 hours on Sunday posting dozens of apparently AI-generated images on his social media platform. The posts included a depiction of Iran's defeat, Trump on horseback with George Washington, and an apparently AI-generated image of Robert De Niro holding a shirt that read, "Trump is my president."

One AI image appears to show the president sitting in front of several monitors in the White House tracking the stock market with a caption that reads: "I do this for our Country, not myself. I've made Hundreds of Billions of Dollars on Stocks, and many other type Holdings, for the U.S.A., not myself, and all I do is get criticized by the Radical Left Dumocrats. Very unfair, but what can you do!"

While the post offered no evidence for the claim, the Trump Administration took a 10% stake in semiconductor giant Intel in August 2025, which is now worth over $50 billion.

Trump has previously come under fire for launching "Truth API," a $100,000-a-month Truth Social feature that gives early access to announcements about policy decisions that could move financial markets. U.S. Senators urged the Securities and Exchange Commission in July to investigate whether Trump Media — the parent company behind Truth Social — is violating applicable federal securities laws with Truth API.

watch now

The president is no stranger to posting AI-generated content and has done so frequently during the ongoing U.S.-Iran war, including a post that showed him holding a gun with explosions in the background, and the words "NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!"

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment seeking further details about the images.

Iran

More than six months have passed since the U.S. and Israel launched "major combat operations" in Iran, and there was little indication on Monday that either side is preparing to return to the negotiating table.

Trump shared dozens of AI-generated images showing Iran being destroyed as well as infographics about its economy that were shared without verifiable sources.

One unsubstantiated chart posted by Trump claimed Iran's currency is "destroyed," and another showed Iran on the map with the words "Iran is a Failing Nation."

An AI-generated image shows Trump watching explosions engulfing several vessels from the deck of a warship. In another, he swings an American-flag-themed hammer at a map of Iran. A third depicts explosions at Kharg Island, with the words, "Bye bye, Kharg," as a fighter jet flies overhead.

While Iran's gross domestic product is believed to have contracted amid the war, and inflation in the country has ballooned to historic highs, some experts have urged caution against assuming that the country is on the verge of economic collapse.

Trump in heroic roles

Trump posted several AI images of himself in action-hero-type roles depicting himself as America's savior.

Some images portray him as a leader flanked by futuristic robots with the Capitol in the background.

In others, he appears as a Hulk Hogan-like wrestler with a red MAGA cap and draped in the American flag. In another, he can be seen as the leader of a Space Force command center.

American dominance

Trump, who built his political brand around the "Make America Great Again" slogan, has called for reasserting U.S. power at home and abroad.

His AI posting spree also included images that depicted countries, territories, and objects as U.S. possessions or territory, including natural and celestial landmarks.

One AI image shows the Strait of Hormuz as a "new U.S. Territory," and in another, New Mexico becomes "New America."

In another post, the Moon is shown with the words "The Moon is Ours," and the American flag to the side. In another post, an image labels Lake Ontario, which currently has borders split between the U.S. and Canada, as Lake America.

It comes after Trump signed an executive order directing the federal government to change the name of Lake Ontario to "Lake America." Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney responded at the time by saying his country will keep calling it Lake Ontario.
