TÜİK announced inflation figures for September: They were below expectations

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced September consumer price inflation as 1.84 percent. Inflation was below expectations. Although September inflation was lower than expected, inflation in the three-month period between July and September was 5.57 percent.

SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensions are increased directly in line with consumer inflation. Accordingly, the 3-month inflation difference for SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensions was 5.57 percent.

7 points of the increase in civil servant salaries and retired civil servant salaries in July were due to the collective agreement increase. Since the three-month inflation remained below the collective bargaining increase, no inflation difference has yet occurred in civil servant salaries and retired civil servants' pensions. In accordance with the collective agreement signed with civil servants, next year there will be a 5 percent raise in January and a 4 percent raise in July.
