Operation 'Streets Are Safe' in Tunceli: Search with Thermal Camera in Pülümür Valley

Under the coordination of the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the "Streets are Safe" operation was organized on the morning of September 14, within the scope of combating new generation criminal organizations and criminal ecosystems. An effort was initiated to capture C.S., for whom an arrest warrant was issued during the operation.

C.S., who was sentenced to a total of 14 years, 10 months and 29 days in prison for escaping from prison due to armed threats and intentional wounding, and who was stated to be the leader of a criminal organization, was not caught in the first operation. Thereupon, studies were concentrated in rural areas.

PÖH AND JÖH TEAMS ENTERED THE VALLEY

Upon the assessment that C.S. may have escaped to the forested and steep terrain in the Pülümür Valley, a large-scale operation was launched in the region. In addition to Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) teams, Police Special Operations (PÖH) and Gendarmerie Special Operations (JÖH) teams also participated in the work. Due to the geographical structure of the region, air support was also given to the searches carried out on land.

While forested areas and escape routes were checked with UAVs, special operations teams searched the steep terrain. The points where C.S. could escape were taken under control by the teams.

HEAT DETECTED WITH A THERMAL CAMERA

Thermal camera systems were also used in the work that continued at night. The teams were directed to the determined point upon detection of heat in the scan made with thermal cameras in the forest area in Pülümür Valley. Special operations teams intensified their searches, C.S. He identified T.G., who was said to have helped him escape and hide, in the rural area. The suspects were caught with the intervention of the teams while trying to escape.
