Touristic Karaelmas Express 2026 Expeditions Begin

Touristic Karaelmas Express, which contributes to tourism-oriented railway transportation between Ankara and Zonguldak, is preparing to hit the rails again.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the line, which was implemented in cooperation with TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, Western Black Sea Development Agency (BAKKA) and Zonguldak Special Provincial Administration, will start operating as of October.

TRAVEL DATES AND TIMES ARE CLEAR

Minister Uraloğlu shared details about the 2026 program of the Touristic Black Elmas Express. Stating that the flights will start on October 2, Uraloğlu used the following statements:

"Our train will depart from Ankara to Zonguldak on 2, 16, 30 October and 13 November, and from Zonguldak to Ankara on 3, 17, 31 October and 14 November."

It was noted that Ankara-Zonguldak flights will operate at 23.00 on Fridays, and Zonguldak-Ankara return flights will operate at 23.00 on Saturdays. The train that will serve on the line; It will consist of a total of 7 wagons, 6 bed and 1 dining car, and will carry a capacity of 120 passengers.

Reminding that the first touristic voyages were organized in 2025 and a total of 8 voyages were carried out last year, Uraloğlu said, "Since its first voyage, the Touristic Karaelmas Express has offered a different travel experience to our passengers who want to explore the natural, cultural and industrial heritage of the Western Black Sea by rail. We continue this experience in 2026."

Emphasizing that it contributed to the promotion of the historical and natural values ​​of the cities on the route, Uraloğlu said that in the 2026 program, passengers going from Ankara to Zonguldak will be in Yenice; He stated that he will make sightseeing stops in Çankırı and Kalecik on his return journey.
