Thousands of runners from 65 countries and great emotions. PKO Cracovia Royal Half Marathon

Due to the half marathon, from 9:00 a.m. on Sunday there were temporary street closures along the race route. However, individual sections will be successively opened as soon as the last competitors leave them and safety is restored.

Sports emotions and record interest

Cracovia Royal Half Marathon is one of the largest running events in Poland. This year, another record was broken - the limit of 18,000 starting packages was exhausted two months before the event. We will see representatives of as many as 65 countries on the route.

Krakow is a great place to make your debut in the half marathon, but also to come back here. We have a great route and great fans - emphasized Tomasz Marzec, director of the Sports Infrastructure Board in Krakow.

Route and accompanying events

The half marathon started at 10:00. The start took place from ul. Stanisław Lem. The 21.097 km long route will take runners through the Vistula Boulevards, Podgórze, around Błonia and the Main Square, and the finish line will be in the Tauron Arena.

Traditionally, the half-marathon will be accompanied by a 5 km run - "Czaniecka Piątka", in which 2.5 thousand participants will start.

Krakow is ready for a double challenge

Apart from the sports event, another important event is taking place in Krakow today - the second round of early elections for the president of Krakow. The organizers assure that residents do not have to worry about any difficulties - special solutions have been prepared so that everyone can both vote and support the athletes.

The greatest difficulties may occur in the area of ​​33 polling stations, to which access by car will be temporarily limited. However, the organizers emphasize that it will be possible to reach every place on foot throughout the duration of the marathon. Only when competitors run through a given section, access to the premises may be temporarily suspended.

This is not the first time that sporting emotions meet election emotions in Krakow. In 2019, the half-marathon was held simultaneously with the parliamentary elections and - as the organizers emphasize - everything went smoothly. This year's race will also end with the next edition of the Royal Running Triad, which also includes the Cracovia Marathon and the Three Mounds Run.
