Two Turkish coaches will face each other for the first time in the UEFA Champions League.

The Shakhtar Donetsk-Fenerbahçe match, which will be played on November 25 in the 5th week of the Champions League, will witness the fight of two Turkish coaches.

Arda Turan, who coaches the Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk, and Fenerbahçe's new coach Emre Belözoğlu will face each other in the "Giants League".

The Shakhtar Donetsk-Fenerbahçe match will be played at Stamford Bridge Stadium in London on Wednesday, November 25 at 23.00 GMT.

Years in the National Football Team

In addition to their club careers, Arda Turan and Emre Belözoğlu also played together under the umbrella of the National Football Team for many years.

Arda played in the National Football Team between 2006-2017, while Emre played between 2000-2019.

The two names were also included in the 2008 European Championship squad, where the national team played in the semi-finals.

They played together at Atletico Madrid

Two of the most talented players of Turkish football met in 2012 under the jersey of Atletico Madrid, one of Spain's well-established teams.

Emre was transferred from Fenerbahçe to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2012 and became a teammate of Arda Turan, who was already playing there.

The most notable success in their team friendship, which lasted about 6 months, was the UEFA Super Cup victory they won by beating Chelsea 4-1 on 31 August 2012. After the cup ceremony, Arda and Emre walked around the field with the Turkish flag.

Emre played in the UEFA Super Cup twice in his career. Emre, who experienced this excitement for the first time with the Galatasaray jersey in the Galatasaray-Real Madrid match in 2000 and tasted the joy of the cup, is the first and only Turkish football player to play more than once in the UEFA Super Cup and to be in the winning team.

Nickname "Turkish Brothers"

The fact that the Arda-Emre duo worked hard for the success of Atletico Madrid during the same period made headlines in the Spanish press and the duo was nicknamed "Turkish Brothers".

While Arda was transferred to Atletico Madrid in 2011, Emre joined the Spanish club in the summer of 2012.
