Ukrainian troops liberate Perepudovka and report gains in territory at the front

Ukrainian troops have liberated the village of Perepudovka, east of Oleksandrivka. This emerges from the current situation report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Geolocated images also show that they have also returned to the neighboring town of Komar and are fighting against the Russian occupiers there. The places are in the Donetsk region, but just before the border with Dnipropetrovsk.

Russian military bloggers write that Ukrainian troops are trying to break through the front line in the area in several places. Therefore, Russian forces would have the greatest difficulty in advancing further between Piddubne and Komar.

In addition, the ISW refers to Ukrainian military reports that Ukrainian units attacked and destroyed three Russian tanks hidden 65 kilometers from the front line in the direction of Oleksandrivka. Accordingly, the Ukrainians had detected the tanks even though they were buried in the ground.

According to the ISW, further images show Ukrainian successes near Kostiantynivka: Ukrainian troops pushed back Russian soldiers in the southwest of the nearby small town of Chasiv Yar. You can see Russian units attacking a Ukrainian position in the previously Russian-controlled southwest of the city - according to the ISW, this indicates an advance by the Ukrainians.

Further footage shows Russian troops attacking a Ukrainian position in the center of Virolyubiwka, northwest of Chasiv Yar - Russian sources had previously reported that this area had also been completely occupied, but according to the ISW, this is no longer the case, at least now.

Additional images show that Ukrainian forces attacked a Russian position between Mykolaivka and Chasiv Yar. According to the ISW, the position was set up by individual Russian soldiers who were sent behind Ukrainian lines.
