This meeting in Washington was organized after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy met with US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner ahead of talks to be held in Abu Dhabi next week.

Zelenskiy stated that he held extremely detailed meetings with US representatives lasting one and a half hours before the Abu Dhabi meeting, which will be the first meeting between the three parties since February.

Earlier yesterday, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy awarded Melania Trump a state medal for her role in ensuring a partial ceasefire that allowed the evacuation of civilians from the Russian-controlled settlement of Oleskyy.
