Umbria: 38 victims on the roads in the first eight months of 2026, the region launches a plan to reduce the risk

People continue to die on the roads. In the region in the first eight months of 2026 there have already been 38 victims, there were 19 in the same period of 2025, recalls the president. "Our regional administration will immediately strengthen and activate all the tools provided for by regional law 8/2014" announces Proietti indicating as the first act the introduction into the Regional Council on road safety of institutions and subjects who have never been involved until now. The Umbrian regional road safety monitoring center will also be established, with the task of processing data and preparing reports to allow concrete actions by the bodies and we will start immediately with training and prevention campaigns. "We ask the Government - explains the president - to do its part. Not only by responding directly for state roads but also by restoring multi-year state contributions to be allocated to local authorities".
