End of life, the political debate: Zangrillo calls for a national law

"I think that on the end of life it is necessary for Parliament to express itself because we must avoid medical tourism, we must avoid that a family that finds itself facing such a situation, which is a dramatic situation, feels the need to analyze the disciplines of the different regions to see which one is most congenial to them". Thus the Minister of Public Administration, Paolo Zangrillo on the sidelines of the Ambrosetti Forum.

"Three regions of the centre-left and one region of the centre-right took action and this confirms the fact that this issue does not belong to an ideological group but is a topic felt by everyone", recalls Zangrillo speaking to ANSA. "Parliament - he reiterates - must intervene on this issue, naturally taking into account the fact that there are very critical aspects that concern the sensitivity, the conscience of each person: the council has already expressed its opinion several times with various sentences".

"I think it is appropriate that it is not the Council that has to deal with it, it is not the individual region but there is a state law that, while respecting different sensitivities, is able to outline a path that is respectful of everyone's thoughts", concludes the minister.
