A 13-year-old minor helps capture an alleged child molester thanks to his coolness

It was thanks to the composure of a 13-year-old schoolboy that investigators were able to trace his alleged attacker. Contacted on Snapchat by an account presenting itself as that of a 15-year-old teenager, the young boy had the reflex to keep evidence (screenshots and video recording of a call) before going to the police station, according to information from the Actu.fr site this Saturday. This report led to the arrest of a 42-year-old man residing in Perros-Guirec, in Côtes-d'Armor, already known to the courts for child abuse. Indicted and incarcerated since April 15, the former childminder saw his request for release rejected on Friday by the investigating chamber of the Rennes Court of Appeal. A well-established operating procedure According to the young complainant's account, the individual pretended to be a 15-year-old teenager looking for new friendships, before proposing a video call during which he got naked in front of the camera. The schoolboy also told investigators that part of his entourage (at least five people) would also have been approached by the same profile. It was a physical detail that ultimately betrayed the suspect: a birthmark spotted on the back, visible during the video call, corresponding to that of the man finally identified.
