Unidentified Raiders Seize Borivazh Marine Terminal in Odessa Region

MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Unidentified raiders have taken over a marine terminal in the Odessa Region that was earlier owned by structures with ties to Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky (listed as an extremist and terrorist in Russia), Ekonomichna Pravda reported, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to the business daily, on Tuesday morning, a group of unknown people arrived at the Borivazh marine terminal outside Odessa, seized the premises by force and effectively took control of the facility.

Borivazh is a grain transshipment and storage complex that is linked to Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov, the former owners of PrivatBank.

The legal status of the facility is currently the subject of legal disputes. In particular, the issue of whether the transfer of the Borivazh grain terminal to Agroterminal Logistic LLC was legitimate is being considered at courts.

Kolomoisky has been in custody since September 2, 2023, when he was detained on charges of fraud and legalization of criminally obtained property. Later, charges of appropriating more than $249 million in PrivatBank were brought against him and five other individuals linked to the lender, majority owned by Kolomoisky. Further on, third charges of accessing money and seizing other people’s property through abuse of power were slapped on the businessman. Investigators argue that during 2013-2014 Kolomoisky misappropriated assets worth $700 million with the help of bank employees.
