“The Iranian military is on high alert this evening and any aggressive action taken by the United States will once again face a harsh response,” the source continued.

Iran's response follows President Trump's complaint that Iran is delaying the end-of-war negotiations and expressed his intention to launch a further offensive.

The United States launched airstrikes against military facilities in Iran in retaliation for the downing of an Army Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz the previous day, and Iran also struck U.S. bases in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, sparking an armed conflict.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command announced that it had launched additional self-defense airstrikes targeting several targets in Iran at 5:15 p.m. Eastern time.

Conflicts between the two sides are expected to continue for a second day as reports continue that explosions were heard in various parts of southern Iran.
