US expresses readiness to facilitate talks between Moscow and Kiev

UNITED NATIONS, August 25. /TASS/. The United States is ready to play a constructive role in facilitating talks between Moscow and Kiev aimed at ending the conflict, US Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dan Negrea said.

"The United States will play whatever constructive role it can to facilitate talks between Moscow and Kiev to achieve this outcome," Negrea said.

He also called on Russia and Ukraine to return to the negotiating table. According to the diplomat, the parties must halt strikes targeting civilian vessels or putting them at risk of damage.
