Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Amine Cansu Çelik was referred to the judgeship with a request for arrest

NEW Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik announced that Amine Cansu Çelik, the mother of a 3-year-old child, was receiving treatment due to a clot in her father's brain. Ekrem Baki, who had the authority to vote in the election that was expected to be held today but was postponed to Tuesday because the parliamentary majority could not be reached, and who was detained on September 3, is still in police custody.

Üsküdar Deputy Mayor, Municipal Council Member Amine Cansu Çelik, License Manager Burak Aydın and operator Erdem Koyunyerli, whose statements to the prosecutor's office were completed within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Üsküdar Municipality, were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest.

WHAT HAPPENED?

After Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş was arrested and suspended from duty on July 31, Sibel Tan Çetinkaya won the election held on August 5 with a difference of 4 votes. The objection to the stay of execution decision given by the administrative court upon the objection of AK Party council members was rejected by the Regional Administrative Court on September 2 and the decision became final. NEW Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik announced that 6 people, including the council members who voted in the August 5 election, were called to testify as suspects or witnesses.

Üsküdar Deputy Mayor, Municipal Council Member Amine Cansu Çelik and Üsküdar Deputy Mayor, Municipal Council Member Mithat Özdemir, who had the right to vote in the election planned to be renewed this morning, were detained on September 2. The next day, Ekrem Baki, who is a council member in both Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Üsküdar Municipality and has the right to vote in the new elections, was taken into custody.

While Mithat Özdemir was released yesterday, Amina Cansu Çelik was transferred to the courthouse from the police station where she was held. Ekrem Baki is still in custody.
