NEW Party Chairman Özgür Özel came to Kırklareli after Edirne within the scope of his two-day Thrace contacts. Özel met with the farmers in the village of Tasagil in Babaeski district and listened to the problems of the farmers. A farmer stated that they were expecting support from Özel and said, "We cannot produce anything anymore. I retired, settled in the village and do livestock farming. Diesel is expensive, feed is expensive."

Another farmer said: "I am farming in the neighboring village. I am also an agricultural doctor. Everything is at my fingertips. All companies, dealers, all of them. I buy medicine and fertilizer at very affordable prices. Despite this, we are making a loss. I left the garden, we are destroying the fruits. This year we are destroying it. We have been destroying it every year for years, we have gotten worse every year. We can no longer stand it. Inputs are very expensive, our product prices are very low. Unfortunately, we are destroying our garden. Years of effort, years of labor." "We planted each of our gardens with our own hands, but unfortunately we are tearing them down," he said.

"WE CANNOT PRODUCE ANYMORE"

Another farmer said, "The worst thing is that our fields are being sold. We don't know to whom they are being sold. Concrete houses are being built where we plant and harvest. They make me very nervous. We cannot leave anything to our grandchildren. We cannot produce anymore. We have abandoned many things. We are not comfortable at all. Our future is not good at all."

A farmer stated that he was receiving a widow's pension and said, "Nobody took care of him. No one really took care of him. Even in our village, no one took care of him. And his children can only manage on their own. No one took care of him."

The other farmer said, "The farmer is in trouble. You are our hope. All our prayers are with you, President. I hope we will get through these bad days. I admire your struggle. I cry for you in front of the television. All Turkish women are behind you."

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL: "WHATEVER IS THE PROBLEM IN THRACE, THERE IS THE SAME PROBLEM IN THIS VILLAGE"

Özel said the following in his speech here:

"As an important problem, there are the same problems in this village as there are in Thrace. The first of these is the problem with wheat prices. When the price of 16.5 lira for wheat was announced, he said, 'This price cannot be achieved with these costs.' Afterwards, that price was searched for with candles and people sold wheat for 12.5 lira. Is it true? Now, what happens when this happens? Debts to the bank cannot be paid, interest is piled on interest. 'The debt is piled up with interest.' While trying to close it with debt, the mortgaged fields are transferred to the banks, and major bankruptcies may occur. Now, we know that Kırklareli produces 10 percent of Turkey's total production of sunflowers and sunflower oil. Unfortunately, the price of sunflowers has not been announced yet, but almost all of the flowers have been collected. This debt has now fallen into the hands of intermediaries due to the price uncertainty in sunflowers.

"WE WARNING AGAINST DANGERS IN MILK PRODUCTION"

"NO SALARY WILL BE BELOW THE MINIMUM WAGE"

Of course, this village is the village of very good people, beautiful people, hardworking people. But Turkey's problems exist here too. Well, with drones, establishing cooperatives in villages, buying some modern agricultural tools into that cooperative, you cannot buy the drone that you will use once a month. But if the cooperative had one drone, it would pick the ones whose medicine and poison would be released.
