Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, who visited Hakkari Governorship within the scope of his programs in the city, received information about the works carried out in the city from Deputy Governor Orçun Cüneyt Zor.
Then, Bayraktar visited workplaces on Bulvar Street and chatted with citizens in a tea house. Bayraktar, who later attended the AK Party Three-Level Meeting under the provincial chairmanship of his party, said that he came to the city to participate in the Türkiye Century Meetings program.
Stating that they told people about the Turkey Century vision put forward by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Bayraktar emphasized that they experienced a period in which Terror-Free Türkiye and Terror-Free Zone Project, one of the most important projects of the Turkey Century, were quickly implemented.
'TERRORISM-FREE Türkiye IS VERY IMPORTANT'
Stating that Türkiye has been fighting terrorism for more than 40 years, Bayraktar said:
"Hakkari has lost many years and lost its people. Today, in an environment where the world is in a ring of fire, and especially our region has become a ring of fire, Turkey stands out as an island of stability within this entire region. Thank God, the work we have done as the AK Party in 24 years under the leadership of our President, the work we have done for a quarter of a century, is today our most important power in terms of establishing stability and peace in Türkiye. I hope Türkiye will gain great momentum and strength from this process and this crisis. "We will survive and truly continue on our way to this island of stability with a stronger, larger economy. That's why Turkey and the region without terrorism are very important. We lost our lives as martyrs, many of our people lost their lives, and 40 years is almost a lifetime. Therefore, we lost time, which is our most important asset."
Emphasizing that the cost of terrorism is an economic loss of 2 trillion dollars according to some evaluations and 2.3 trillion dollars according to some evaluations, Bayraktar stated that they have lost a great resource.
Explaining that the resources lost in 40 years should be transformed into investment, employment and production, Bayraktar said, "Turkey, which had a 230 billion dollar economy in 2002, will now become a 2 trillion dollar economy in 2027. Hopefully, it will grow even further, we have a huge potential. Türkiye must definitely add underground riches to its economy. This is one of the golden recipes. Abundance is in the lands, mountains and underground wealth of Hakkari. This has been going on for millions of years." "It is important to make our underground mines much stronger by adding them to our economy." he said.
"NOW IS THE TIME TO DO THINGS VERY FAST"
Referring to Hakkari's underground riches and young population, Bayraktar continued as follows:
"We are talking about the province that has the second youngest population in Türkiye, together with Şırnak. But our youth need jobs and employment. Therefore, just as we made Şırnak the capital of oil, let Hakkari be the capital of mining. Hopefully, Hakkari will be known as the zinc and lead belt, it has a very important reserve in the world, and we will hopefully bring very important investments here to activate it. But it is not enough to just extract the mineral from the ground. Essentially, turning it into an industry." "It is important. Essentially, we need to create an industry around what we call value-added mining, that is, intermediate products. When we do this, thousands of our young people will work in these industrial facilities. When you consider the logistics and other economic effects of this work, it is a very important development project that will provide employment opportunities for tens of thousands of our brothers and sisters. We will specifically address this project in Hakkari."
Stating that state companies will also invest in Hakkari, Bayraktar said, "We have lost 40 years. Now it is time to do things very quickly. We cannot waste any more time. I believe that Hakkari will be the rising star of this place and the east in this sense. I would like to express that I am ready to work day and night and walk towards this big dream with you." he said.
"WE COVER MORE THAN 50 PERCENT OF THE BILLS"
Stating that they will work to improve the energy infrastructure in the city and provide uninterrupted energy, Bayraktar gave the good news that natural gas will be delivered to other districts as soon as possible after Hakkari and Yüksekova.
Stating that they are carrying out a very important support program in energy, Bayraktar continued his speech as follows:
"Today, we, as the state, cover more than 50 percent of the bills coming to your homes. This was a process that started with the pandemic process. Prices in the world have now risen a lot. As you know, this is due to the Hormuz crisis and the war. But our president's instruction is this. We must protect our citizens from these increasing energy prices. That is why we will continue these supports. But we want to give these supports to our people who are really in need, low-income, fixed-income, receiving the lowest pension. In other words, those who are not in need, who are employed, businessmen who are employers." "If they do not need it, there is no need to provide them with this support. Let's continue to support our families of martyrs and veterans, hopefully we will continue this from now on."
"WE NEED TO PRODUCE MORE OIL"
Speaking about the youth fund, Bayraktar said, "Before the 2023 elections, our president said that we will support our young people to strengthen the family institution from oil, natural gas and mineral revenues added later. We encourage our young people to marry at an early age and have children, which is very important for the population growth of our country. Therefore, we continue this support in the family and youth fund. We will continue to support our young people to establish both a job and a home with these supports. Now, tens of thousands of our young people have benefited from this. Hundreds of thousands of our young people are motivated in this sense and benefit from this support." "We need to produce more minerals to benefit from it. We need to produce more oil. We need to produce more natural gas from the natural gas field in Sakarya in the Black Sea so that our revenues will increase and hopefully our supports will continue to increase. We will continue to work on this issue." he said.
