At issue in particular are several “books” and newspaper front pages discussing his case. “My astonishment is that they explain with confidence, without me knowing them or having spoken to them, what is in my head and the judgments that I have pronounced on one or the other…” he writes. “These unprofessional methods of venomous sewers ultimately always have the same goal: to try to discredit someone who dares to resist the small caste which runs our country and of which they are the media armed wing.”

An attitude that the businessman claims to “forgive” easily. “As I am a Christian Democrat… as a Democrat I respect elections and those who were elected, as a Christian I easily forgive slanderers and slanderers and let them say what concerns me personally,” he wrote. Vincent Bolloré then discusses the Institute of Hope, a think tank that he created and whose existence he revealed last April before a parliamentary commission of inquiry. This laboratory of ideas, which he describes as bringing together “around fifteen Christian personalities”, has been working for several months on the development of a manifesto intended, according to its promoters, to propose concrete solutions for France, in the run-up to the 2027 presidential election.

A “happier, harmonious and united” France

Vincent Bolloré announces in his message that this manifesto will be published “in full”, with his “comrades” from the Institute, in order to prevent it from being, according to him, “falsely caricatured” by those who could comment on it before its complete distribution. He presents this text as carrying measures intended to restore purchasing power to the French, to strengthen freedom and security, to help vulnerable people and to build, in his words, a “happier, harmonious and united” France.

Owner of a vast media empire including CNews, Europe 1, Journal du Dimanche and Editions Hachette, Vincent Bolloré is a figure regularly scrutinized by the press and arouses criticism, particularly on the left, on the political orientation of his media.
