The Elisabeth religious procession will take place for the 15th time in Ilyinsky-Usovo on September 27, the day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

The procession will begin after the liturgy at 12:30 at the church in Ilinskoye, and registration of participants will begin on the territory of the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in the village of Usovo at 8:30 in the morning.

During the religious procession, a charity event “White Flower Day” will be organized to help military personnel who were seriously injured during a special military operation.

MOSCOW, September 27 – RIA Novosti. The Elisabeth religious procession for the 15th time will take place in Ilyinsky-Usovo on September 27, the day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Elisabeth-Sergius Educational Society Foundation, which organizes the procession, told RIA Novosti.

“The XV Elizabethan religious procession will take place in the historical Imperial estate “Ilinskoye-Usovo”... Traditionally, the religious procession is held on the day closest to the name day of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna (the day of remembrance of the holy righteous Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist). This year the event is timed to coincide with important memorable dates: the 130th anniversary of the sacred coronation of the emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, on the 135th anniversary of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna’s accession to Orthodoxy and the 135th anniversary of the appointment of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich to the post of Moscow Governor-General,” the organizers said.

The religious procession will take place on September 27, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. It is held annually in memory of the wife of Emperor Alexander II, Empress Maria Alexandrovna (1824-1880), Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich (1857-1905) and his wife, the Martyr Grand Duchess Elisaveta Feodorovna (1864-1918), as well as their associate of the Grand Duke couple, Hieromartyr Sergius Mahaev (1874-1937).

The procession, the organizers said, will begin after the liturgy at 12.30 at the church in Ilyinsky. Registration of its participants will begin on the territory of the Church of the Savior of the Image Not Made by Hands in the village of Usovo at 8:30 am. The procession will be led by Archbishop of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk Thomas (Mosolov). Pilgrims will cross the Moscow River on pontoon bridges and rafts, and then arrive at the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in Usovo, where a prayer service will take place. On the square in front of the Spassky Church there will be a monastery fair and a charity event “White Flower Day”, the funds raised at which will be used to help military personnel who were seriously injured during a special military operation.

Participants of the XV Elizabethan procession will also be able to visit the traveling stand exhibition "History and traditions of the sacred coronation of Russian sovereigns. XIX century.
