Key Party Chairman Yavuz Ağıralioğlu made evaluations to ANKA News Agency about Turkey's political agenda, economy, Presidential candidacy debates, fight against terrorism and constitutional order.
Saying that politics should focus on the problems experienced by citizens, not on individuals and candidacy debates, Ağıralioğlu said, "We are not a party cadre. We are a community of patriots, we are a community of children of the country. We will raise up the country. We do not have a party rush for this will to raise up, we have a country rush. Politics starts the day with a concentration of 'Let me beat my opponent'. We are running around saying 'Let's beat the problems of the country'." spoke.
“WE DO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE MAGAZINE IN POLITICS”
Ağıralioğlu said that the discussions on the presidential candidacy should not determine the agenda of politics and also evaluated Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş's attitude towards the candidacy.
Ağıralioğlu reminded Yavaş's statements that "I am at my job. There is no election date at the moment" and said that this is an approach that prioritizes the current problems of the country.
Politics "Who will be President?" Ağıralioğlu stated that being squeezed into the debate has turned politics into a tabloid, and said:
"The country has problems, let's talk about the system. That is, let's not talk about individuals. A discussion like 'Who will be the candidate against Mr. Tayyip?' turns politics into a tabloid. If we expose ourselves to this magazine, we will involve our party in these matters, we will disrespect the nation. If someone killed himself yesterday saying 'I can't make ends meet', this is what politics should feel responsible for. Leaving aside the problems of the country and asking 'Who will be President?' Speaking would be disrespectful to the problems the nation suffers from.”
FUND MANIPULATION
Ağıralioğlu stated that those responsible for fund manipulation should be revealed and the process should be carried out transparently and that "who bought what and what kind of mechanism was operated" in the said process should be revealed.
Ağıralioğlu said, "If the whole list is disclosed, what was abused in this mechanism? How were the sensors turned off? How were so many irregularities committed? Who benefited from this irregularity? The society has the right to know this."
“WE DO NOT CONSIDER NEGOTIATIONS WITH TERROR AS LEGITIMATE”
Speaking about the fight against terrorism and the political processes carried out, Ağıralioğlu stated that Key Party has red lines on this issue and said, "We have concerns. We do not see it legitimate to touch terrorism, to walk against terrorists, to negotiate with terrorism."
Ağıralioğlu also explained his party's approach to the constitutional order and unitary structure with the following statements:
"Not touching terrorism, not walking against terrorists, not seeing negotiations with terrorism as legitimate; being able to protect the Republic, preserving the Republic and its supporting columns, that is, our unitary structure, preserving our national integrity, state integrity, official language and constitutional citizenship, and preserving 86 million people as the Turkish nation."
“OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE IS A DIFFERENT, BUT THE MAIN LANGUAGE IS A DIFFERENT”
Drawing attention to the distinction between mother tongue and official language, Ağıralioğlu said that the existence of different mother tongues in Turkey should be evaluated separately from the official language.
"Our official language is separate, the mother tongue is different," said Ağıralioğlu, adding, "There is such a thing as a mother tongue. But the official language is only one. In the unitary state, the official language is Turkish. We will preserve this sensitivity."
Addressing the importance of the first four articles of the Constitution, Ağıralioğlu argued that these articles are "the password to keep 86 million people together." Stating that citizenship is a legal status, Ağıralioğlu said, "There is never anything like identity denial or assimilation or anything like that for anyone. Such a thing does not happen in this country. Nobody's identity is denied, nor is their color, sect or disposition denied."
“THE PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE MUST PROTECT 86 MILLION”
Ağıralioğlu said that the President should bear the responsibility of all citizens, not just those who voted for him, and said, "You will protect the integrity of the nation. You will protect the unity of the state, the integrity of the state. You will protect the Constitution, you will protect the law, you will protect your people. You will protect not only those who voted for you, but also those who did not vote for you, as well as everyone who is your citizen. In other words, you will protect these 86 million people like your family."
Evaluating his own position regarding the Presidential candidacy, Ağıralioğlu said that all political party leaders can be considered as Presidential candidates unless they declare otherwise.
Ağıralioğlu said, "As a son who has sworn to serve the nation in the name of this responsibility, I am more assertive than anyone whose name is mentioned in the Presidency. But I am not a man who would hinder my own career plan and ambition from the horizon of the country."
