Dear readers, the process that started with Öcalan's call to the PKK organization finally reached another stage with the adoption of the framework law in the National Assembly with 457 votes. We started to think about what would happen now. The first peace process and Öcalan's first letter, read on Newroz on March 3, 2015, came to my mind. In those days, I was there because of my profession and everyone, including children, young and old, were in the square in Diyarbakır. A brand new peace process was about to begin, there was a brand new enthusiasm all over the country, but what happened next?
Soon, events occurred that no one could fully understand, and the state suddenly ended the peace process and trench wars began throughout the Southeast, in which most young people were killed. I was there in those days too, and I can still hear the laments of the women waiting to receive their children's bones at the state gates. There was a curfew in Silopi and people had to put their dead children in freezers. Tanks called Scorpions, with doors on all sides and containing the smallest sound-sensitive computer, fired so much that thousands of dead pigeons covered the streets. There were also snipers placed in tall buildings. I saw them shining while walking on the forbidden streets of Silopi.
My dear readers, human memory does not forget, that is why I am skeptical about the restarted peace period. PKK will abolish itself. Don't do it anyway, PKK is fighting in Syria under the name of PYD, with the full support of the American army.
Now I repeat once again the question of whether peace will come. There is not only PKK terrorism in our country; we all feel the anxiety of the events that darken our lives every minute of every day. The seizures and trustee appointments of opposition municipalities made us dizzy. Is it strange that those who place illegal bets in the country and thousands of people fall into the trap of these bettors and lose everything they have in order to get some more meat? Will the drug laboratories in Yüksekova be closed with this call? Will this famous sentence, which is almost a proverb in the Southeast, like "One kilo of dust, one bus", be forgotten?
Most importantly, will political prisoners who have been held hostage in prisons for years be released? Will cases of insulting the President decrease? In our country, where at least two women are killed by men every day, will the strange discounts given to defendants by judges disappear? I have written many times about these judge discounts, and one thing I have not forgotten was even said to a six-year-old girl, who said she had no objection. Now the judges have found another excellent reason for the discount: “A murder committed with extreme passion and love!” May your passion sink. Ah yes, terrorism is ending and peace is coming. Will this peace prevent the suicides of young people who cannot be appointed, cannot find a job and are ashamed to ask their fathers for money? Will it put an end to religious hegemony in education?
Will the calls of the Saturday Mothers, who have been asking for the bones of their children with unending stubbornness and faith for years, be answered?
My dear readers, the word that best describes the days we live in is uncertainty! There is chaos in every area. And as many people have stated in this chaos, Öcalan's call to "PKK lay down its weapons" will not be a panacea. Bar associations are under the threat of the government, white-collar workers are marching and shouting to do their jobs better and not to be beaten or killed: "Human life is valuable. It cannot be a tool of trade!" Workers are desperately going on strike because fathers can't even take Ramadan pita home with them anymore! What does the ministry do, headed by a culture minister who did not even participate in the commission established in the Parliament for the fire in which 78 people died? Do you really believe that this government, which is afraid of even comedians, will really bring peace? I personally don't believe it, it's like everything was planned. And the imperialist powers' Middle East plans are advancing step by step. Let's look at the past, for example, they fueled the Alevi-Sunni divide in our country, but they failed. Because the people did not fall for this trick. Then they changed plans. They caused the country to rot from within through sects and purchased traitors.
And we all live in the era of a government that ignores its veterans who are almost on a death fast, wrapped in Turkish flags in parks, who does not lend a hand to the mine workers' search for rights, and who ignores its citizens who are dragged from their own villages by their sons who became gendarmes while trying to destroy the plains and plateaus of the mines.
Hamiş: I was obsessed with the tribal wedding held in Van. I wrote, and I'm writing again, that the bride was adorned with so much gold at the wedding that she was able to walk with help.
