[Reporter Yang Xinhan/Reporting from Taipei] The Shining recently released a new single "Näin Määrättiin", which is not only the band's first love song since its formation, but also ranked fifth on the latest Finnish YouTube Music weekly music rankings, becoming the first Taiwanese artist/band to appear on the list.

"Näin Määrättiin" was inspired by the suicide notes written by political victims of the White Terror to their loved ones before they were executed, and invited Finnish singer Mariska to guest star. According to the Finnish media "GrimmGent", when introducing the song, guitarist Jesse said that the song still maintains the consistent style of The Shining, while also adding many new elements.

The members of The Shining recorded new songs remotely. Drummer Dani said that it had no impact on the band and the members continued to create. Group leader Doris said that The Shining may have been rushing to make music in the past, but now they finally have the opportunity to carefully compose each song. She also cherishes that everyone can still make music together.

In addition to "GrimmGent", mainstream Finnish music media such as MTV3, Soundi, and Popzine have also reported on this new song. This time on the Finnish YouTube Music weekly rankings, The Shining becomes the first Taiwanese artist/band to appear on the list; in Asia, in addition to K-Pop singers who have occupied the list many times, artists from Japan, China, Thailand and other countries have yet to make it to the Top 5.

Regarding future plans, Doris revealed that there have been some invitations to perform, but at this stage, the group members want to continue focusing on creation.
