The Chinese scientific research team conducted archaeological research on the 2,200-year-old plant bag unearthed from the tomb of Wu Wangdun in Huainan, Anhui Province, and revealed its sacrificial attributes and similar shape to modern rice dumplings, finding a possible historical origin for the legend of eating rice dumplings during the Dragon Boat Festival and commemorating Qu Yuan.
