MOSCOW, September 29 - RIA Novosti. A child was washed away by a wave from a pier in Kholmsk, Sakhalin region; the boy’s body could not be removed from the water due to strong sea conditions, reported the Russian State Emergency Situations Directorate for the region.

“In the city of Kholmsk, near Primorsky Boulevard, a boy climbed over a fence and was washed away from the pier by a wave... The body of a child without signs of life was found in the water 20 meters from the pier. Strong sea swells make it difficult to get the body out of the water,” the report says.
