When candidate Kim's hearing report was adopted by the Democratic Party at the plenary session in the afternoon, Representative Jang Dong-hyuk said in a Facebook post, "Even if I die, I will cancel the indictment. I have decided to break up with the people," and added, "The gift that the people want to receive the most this Chuseok is the impeachment of Lee Jae-myung."
At the party's Supreme Council meeting in the morning, floor leader Jeong Jeong-sik said, "This cabinet reshuffle is adding fuel to the public's anger," and criticized "a rush of appointments without the people in mind."

Shin Dong-wook, a member of the Supreme Council, pointed out, "If you look at the results of the opinion poll on candidate Kim Seung-won, the negative public opinion is more than 50%, and the public opinion that 'that is okay' is in the mid-20% range, but the mid-20% range is far below the approval rating for the president's performance of state affairs. Even the ruling party supporters say that candidate Kim should not be nominated."
Supreme Council member Kim Jae-won pointed out, "The goal of appointing Kim Seung-won would be to cancel the indictment, and the goal of appointing Kang Shin-cheol would be to dismantle the national defense force through the merger of military academies." He added, "It is a good appointment. I think it is an appointment that proves that the Lee Jae-myung administration is in ruins."
In a commentary, Chief Spokesperson Choi Bo-yoon took aim at candidate Kang Shin-cheol and criticized him, saying, "He responded with the idea that this was fair compensation for the apartments he and his family received as part of special operations for evictees, but the public is asking whether the original purpose of the system was met. If you know the shame, you should decide your own course of action."
He also lashed out at the ruling party, saying, "Where have the late Rep. Jeong-gu, the 'godfather of the evictees', and the young consciences that stood on the side of the poor disappeared? The history of the Democratic Party must be rewritten as a 'party that deceived the common people' and a 'greedy cabinet government.'"

On this day, the People Power Party began to exercise its power by canceling the meetings of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee and the Trade, Industry and Energy Small and Medium Venture Business Committee, chaired by a member of its own party. It was interpreted as a response to the ruling party's tendency to force personnel appointments, including candidate Kim's.
Kim Seong-won, chairman of the Industrial Resources Committee, said on Facebook on this day, "Even the progressive People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy judged candidate Kim Seung-won unqualified, and public opinion polls also turned their backs on him. We cannot fill key government ministries in this way," and urged candidates Kim Seung-won and Kang Shin-cheol to resign.
The People Power Party has announced a rally to condemn the ‘Lee Jae-myung administration’s mismanagement’ on the 22nd, before the Chuseok holiday.

Senior Spokesperson Choi Su-jin said, "This is a stepping stone to continue the momentum of the struggle in the National Assembly and expand the public opinion campaign outside the court.
