National Baekdudaegan Arboretum will hold the '2026 Baekdudaegan Festival' from the 1st to the 11th of next month.

The National Baekdudaegan Arboretum announced on the 24th that it will hold the 2026 Baekdudaegan Festival at the National Baekdudaegan Arboretum in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do from the 1st to the 11th of next month.

The Bongja Festival is a festival using native plants from the Bonghwa region in Gyeongsangbuk-do, where the arboretum is located, and was started in 2019 for regional coexistence and response to regional extinction.

The festival is being held as part of a local win-win contract cultivation project that links wild flowers grown by local farms with exhibitions at the Baekdudaegan Arboretum.

Last year, it had a direct and indirect economic ripple effect of about 21.7 billion won.

This year, about 320,000 wild flowers, such as gujeolcho and antweed, grown at local farms will be exhibited under the theme of ‘Enjoying the world: sniffing, salty, salty’.

In addition, there will be a Bongja Market where local farmers and small business owners participate, a special exhibition using the arboretum's representative characters, Dr. Bong's Plant Research Institute where you can experience plants through your senses of touch and smell, and a collaborative education program with the Youth Future Environment Center.

Admission is free during the festival period, except for October 6, which is an alternative closing day, and round-trip shuttle buses departing from Seoul, Daegu, Yeongju, and Andong are also free on weekends and public holidays from October 3 to 11.

Shuttle buses operate on a prior reservation basis once a day for each route, and detailed schedules and reservation methods can be found on the National Baekdudaegan Arboretum website.
