Russian Ground Forces Day
It is believed that the history of the Russian Ground Forces began on October 1 (old style) 1550. On that day, Ivan the Terrible, by his decree, ordered the gathering of a thousand people in Moscow and surrounding cities to organize rifle regiments for permanent guard duty.
Currently, the main task of the Ground Forces is to ensure the security and protection of the national interests of the inhabitants of Russia, as well as to protect the country’s territory on land.

International Music Day
The holiday was established in 1973 at the initiative of the International Music Council of UNESCO. Glorification of the Venerable Princess Euphrosyne of Suzdal
Saint Euphrosyne was born in 1212 in the family of the Grand Duke of Chernigov Michael. The princely couple could not have children for a long time, and Euphrosyne became their first child, sent from above for fervent prayer. According to legend, the Mother of God appeared to the prince and his wife three times to inform them of the imminent birth of their daughter.
When the princess grew up, she was matched to Alexander Nevsky's brother, Prince Fyodor, but the groom passed away right on the wedding day. Then Euphrosyne went to the Suzdal monastery, where she lived all her life. Tradition says that the Lord himself appeared to the saint to tell about the martyrdom of her father and the imminent invasion of the Tatars in Rus' - in 1238 the Horde completely destroyed Suzdal, and only the monastery of Euphrosyne survived thanks to her prayers. In 1250, the saint departed to God; according to legend, soon numerous miracles began to occur at her grave.
