Cheonan City confirms next year's living wage as 12,603 ​​won per hour... 887 subjects

Cheonan City announced on the 10th that it has decided that the hourly living wage for next year will be 12,603 ​​won.

It was an increase of 473 won (3.9%) from this year’s 12,130 won. When converted to monthly salary (209 hours) based on 40 hours a week, it is 2,634,027 won, which is 98,857 won higher than this year.

This living wage is 1,903 won higher than next year’s minimum wage of 10,700 won per hour announced by the government.

The living wage is a wage system that pays more than the minimum wage so that workers can actually make a living. It applies to a total of 887 people, including workers belonging to Cheonan City, investment/contribution organizations, and office entrusted organizations.

Lee Mi-young, head of the Employment and Economy Department, said, "It was calculated by comprehensively reflecting local economic conditions, price levels, and stability of workers' lives. We hope that the increase in the living wage will lead to stability in workers' livelihoods and improvement in the quality of the workforce."
