[Reporter Gong Naixi/Reporting from Taipei] CITIC Brothers' tightrope Gao Yujie kicked off the team's egg-breaking offensive with a hit in the 5th inning. In the 1st inning, he and starting pitcher Felix jointly rewarded Wei Quanlong with two stolen bases in a single inning, chasing the record for the most in a single inning in the history of the Taiwan League.
Wei Quan originally had a chance to score in the first inning. Li Kaiwei bunted and hit an infield hit. At the same time, he stole a base and was blocked by Gao Yujie. Then Guo Tianxin got on base and reached second base due to a pitcher's error. Unexpectedly, he stole third base and was caught by Felix. Two stolen bases in a single inning prevented Zhang Zhengyu's subsequent hits from returning points.
The league record team shared that this is the second time in the history of the league that there were two stolen bases in a single inning. The previous time was the Unified Lions in G5 in 2024. They had no score in the 4th inning because they were caught stealing two bases by CITIC.
Not only did Gao Yujie perform well on defense, he hit a hit in the fifth inning and connected with Song Shengrui for a hit. In addition, Dragons first pick Zeng Sheng'an made an error. CITIC occupied the second and third bases. Zhang Renwei hit a ground ball to return the score, and scored the first point in the 14th inning of the Taiwan Competition.
