From September 1, Russia introduced additional guarantees against dismissal for workers returning from military service

From September 1, workers whose employment contract was suspended due to military service and then renewed will receive a preferential right to remain at work if they are laid off.

Preferential rights remain with employees who have equal labor productivity and qualifications with other employees.

An employer cannot dismiss an employee on his own initiative during the period of temporary disability or while on vacation, with the exception of liquidation of the organization or termination of the activities of an individual entrepreneur.

MOSCOW, September 13 - RIA Novosti. Workers who went to military service have received special guarantees against dismissal in Russia since September, Pavel Smelov, head of the Center for Strategic Research (CSR), told RIA Novosti.

“From September 1, additional protection during layoffs appears: employees whose employment contract was suspended in connection with military service and then resumed after returning to their previous employer receive a preferential right to remain at work during layoffs - with equal productivity and qualifications with other employees,” Smelov said.

This will give additional guarantees to the participants of the special military operation.
