本次投产的1号机组成功入选中国国家能源局第五批能源领域首台(套)重大技术装备名单，有效解决了“高海拔、高碱煤、深度调峰”行业难题，填补了高海拔煤电技术创新空白。

同时，该项目依托铁路专用线与新能源车辆构建清洁运输体系，削减转运环节污染物排放。有效利用格尔木市中水，实现全厂废污水闭环消纳、零外排，灰、渣、石膏综合利用率达100%，锅炉烟气污染物排放满足超低排放标准。
