Antonelli could become Formula 1 champion at the US Grand Prix

Italian Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli increased his advantage in the individual championship of Formula 1 drivers to 102 points following the results of the 17th stage of the championship - the Singapore Grand Prix, which took place at the Marina Bay city circuit.

The winner of Sunday's race was the four-time Formula 1 champion, Dutchman Max Verstappen from Red Bull. Monegasque Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took second place, Antonelli took third.

The Italian now has 340 points, increasing his lead over his second teammate, Briton George Russell (238), to 102 points and getting a mathematical chance of becoming the champion at the next Grand Prix. Third place is taken by Briton Lewis Hamilton from Ferrari (229), Verstappen (221) rose to fourth position.

The top 10 also includes: 5. Leclerc (215), 6. Lando Norris (Great Britain; McLaren; 201), 7. Oscar Piastri (Australia; McLaren; 128), 8. Isak Hajjar (France; Red Bull; 97), 9. Liam Lawson (New Zealand; Racing Bulls; 65), 10. Pierre Gasly (France; Alpin; 41).

Mercedes continues to lead the Constructors' Championship with 578 points. Next are Ferrari (444), McLaren (339), Red Bull (332), Racing Bulls (100), Alpin (68), Haas (30), Audi (23), Williams (12), Aston Martin (7) and Cadillac (0).
