After the National Day fireworks in Taitung during the Double Ten holiday, there was a wave of returning traffic. Pingtung police and the Highway Bureau launched traffic diversion measures such as lane allocation and gradual lane changes on Ping'e Highway in response to the returning traffic from the Hengchun Peninsula and the east, striving to alleviate congestion on the bottleneck road section.

This summer, teenagers have become the main force in red tourism, accounting for nearly 65% of tourists. On the National Day holiday (October 11), the High Commissioner of the Ministry of Transport pointed out that as of 11 a.m., the national highway traffic volume was 25.6 million vehicle kilometers, and it was estimated to reach 110 million vehicle kilometers for the whole day, which is still within the expected range. In the morning, the congestion on the national highway was mainly concentrated on the section of National Highway 5 northbound from Yilan to Pinglin. The speed of the section from Yilan to Toucheng was only 13 kilometers per hour. A total of 6 accidents occurred that morning. Among them, two small passenger car collisions occurred at 353 kilometers northbound on China 1 and at the Fengyuan entrance. Although they were eliminated within 20 minutes, they caused traffic jams. The High Power Bureau predicts that many road sections will be prone to congestion in the afternoon, and calls on drivers to check the condition of their vehicles, maintain a safe distance, and avoid using assisted driving systems at interchanges, service areas or rest stops to ensure safety.

Today is the Double Ten consecutive holiday. There is heavy traffic volume in the northbound direction of National Highway 5. Instrument control at the entrance ramps from Suao to Shiding will be activated at 8:00 a.m., and instrument control on the main line will be implemented at 9:14. It is expected that the traffic flow from the northbound direction will continue until 8 p.m. The police have deployed personnel to divert traffic and implement high-occupancy control and large truck traffic restrictions to remind drivers to maintain a safe distance, obey the speed limit, and avoid fatigue driving.

In response to the demand from passengers returning to work on the last day of the National Day holiday, the Taiwan Railway Corporation will open the multi-train New Ziqiang Line (EMU3000) from Hualien and Taitung to Taipei and Xinzuoying from today, with 200 unseating tickets per train. At the same time, the Highway Bureau plans for passenger transport operators to work overtime and launch a 15% discount on national highway passenger transport. Combined with the TPASS 2.0 member feedback and green transportation platform, the maximum discount can be stacked up to 53%.

On the last day of the National Day holiday, the Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation predicts that there will be a rush of traffic returning to work in the afternoon. Provincial Route 61 Tamjiang Bridge, Provincial Route 64 National Interchange 3, Provincial Route 74 Wufeng Section westbound, Provincial Route 9 South Link to Pingtung, Provincial Route 2 Wanli to Dawulun and other sections are prone to congestion. The public is reminded to take public transportation. National Highway Passenger Transport offers a 15% discount, and TPASS 2.0 members can enjoy up to 53% off.
