Qinghai Province’s Measures for Implementing the Trade Union Law of the People’s Republic of China will come into effect on October 1

China News Service, Xining, September 24 (Reporter Sun Rui) On September 24, the General Office of the Standing Committee of the Qinghai Provincial People's Congress held a press conference on the "Qinghai Provincial Measures for the Implementation of the Trade Union Law of the People's Republic of China". The measure was voted on at the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Qinghai Provincial People's Congress on July 31 and will come into effect on October 1.

The implementation measures include seven chapters and 52 articles, focusing on improving trade union organization building, employee rights protection and inclusive services. For workers in new forms of employment such as online ride-hailing drivers, couriers, and takeout delivery workers, the measures are clear to promote platform companies and platform employment cooperative companies to establish trade union organizations and recruit workers to join them; workers can also join regional and industrial trade union federations or trade unions at their workplaces and places of residence. Trade unions can represent employees to conduct collective negotiations and sign collective contracts with platform companies on labor remuneration, labor intensity, working hours, occupational injury protection, order allocation, etc.

Liang Hongjun, vice chairman of the Qinghai Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, said that currently there are 10,497 trade union organizations in the province, covering 1.17 million employees and 1.053 million members.

In the next step, the Qinghai trade union will carry out comprehensive study and publicity, refine supporting systems, and cooperate with the National People's Congress, the judiciary, human resources and social security departments and other departments for supervision and inspection, and promote the implementation of laws and regulations so that employees can benefit, enterprises can develop, and society can be harmonious.
