"Trace of the Detective" is based on the advanced deeds of Cui Daozhi, the winner of the "July 1st Medal" and an expert in trace inspection. The film's timeline spans several decades, not only depicting the persistence of the public security officers' original aspirations, but also witnessing the rapid development of our country's criminal investigation technology.
In his nineties, Cui Daozhi has dedicated and worked for the cause of New China for more than seventy years. Since becoming a police officer, information shows that he has experienced more than 1,200 cases in total, and he has personally fixed more than 7,000 pieces of evidence without any mistakes.
In an exclusive interview with CCTV, Zhang Yi said that this was a "huge challenge" that made his palms sweat. He also hoped to use this film to pay tribute to all the behind-the-scenes heroes who silently work on the public security front.

"Trace of the Detective" officially announces global release plan:
Launched in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Germany on October 15th;
Landed in Malaysia on October 22;
At the end of October, it will enter theaters in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand;
South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Cambodia will also be unlocked one after another.
"Rebirth 2" has also launched overseas release:
It will open in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia on October 15th, and will be screened in the UK ahead of schedule;
It will officially hit the big screens in the UK and Ireland on October 16th;

In April this year, China Film Technology signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with UFO Moviez, India's largest theater integrator, to deploy no less than 15 CINITY projection systems in India and establish a CINITY platemaking center in Hyderabad to provide high-tech format film projection solutions for South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The overseas business model has been upgraded from “selling equipment” to “exporting plate making standards and content ecology”.
On the distribution side, Chinese film and television companies have begun to establish overseas independent distribution channels and networks, and more works are accurately laid out from a global perspective in the early stages of creation. Ying Xujun, president of Chinese Pictures and Oriental DreamWorks, said that as of now, the overall overseas distribution network of Chinese Pictures has covered six continents, more than 130 countries, and more than 1,000 cities around the world.
The policy side continues to increase its efforts. The 2026 National Film Directors’ Conference clearly proposed “focusing on promoting the ‘going out’ of Chinese films,” expressing the need to expand the high-level opening up of Chinese films to the outside world and enhance international communication and influence. The National Film Industry Development Special Fund will continue to reward the overseas distribution and sales of domestic films and provide support in proportion to the revenue obtained.
