Russian Sergei Filimonov pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of cyber fraud in the United States

WASHINGTON, September 10 - RIA Novosti. Russian Sergei Filimonov, extradited from Georgia, pleaded not guilty to all 11 counts of charges brought against him in the United States, according to court documents studied by RIA Novosti.

The Russian appeared in federal court on September 4 in the US state of Georgia, where he was given a copy of the indictment. In addition, Filimonov was provided with a translator from Russian and appointed a state lawyer, it follows from documents studied by the agency.

“Upon receiving a copy of the indictment and following the arraignment, Filimonov pleaded not guilty to counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, 10 and 11,” the court document states.

The statement is dated September 4 and signed by Filimonov himself and his lawyer. On the same day, the Russian appeared before a federal magistrate judge in Atlanta.

The US Department of Justice announced Filimonov's extradition on Tuesday. American authorities accuse him of participating in an international cyber fraud scheme, the participants of which, according to investigators, stole bank customer data and used it to access accounts and make unauthorized transfers.
