In the Zaporozhye region, a pensioner was sentenced to 12 years for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine

In the Zaporozhye region, a pensioner was convicted of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Lenta.ru was informed about this by the press service of the regional court of the region.

She was found guilty under Article 275 (“Treason”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

As the court found, a 66-year-old resident of Tokmak received Russian citizenship in August 2023. At the same time, she had a negative attitude towards representatives of Russian government authorities, their foreign policy and opposed the conduct of a special military operation.

After receiving a Russian passport, she continued to receive a Ukrainian pension. In August of the same year, in one of the messengers she found a pro-Ukrainian group asking for financial assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and bank details for transferring funds were also indicated there.

After this, the woman decided to transfer her Ukrainian pension to this account. Between August 2023 and May 2025, she made 39 transfers in the amount of 60,454 rubles.

The court found her guilty and sentenced her to 12 years in a general regime colony.
