Recently, when I walked into the passion fruit planting base in Shuibei Village, Dam Town, Heyuan City, I saw continuous green vines, green and yellowish golden passion fruits hanging on the branches, and the fruity fragrance was overflowing. Workers shuttle among the pergolas to pick skillfully, and baskets of freshly picked fruits are quickly transported to the sorting center for grading and packaging.

The relevant person in charge of the Shuibei Village Passion Fruit Planting Base (referred to as the "base") said that this year the base has a planting area of 300 acres, with an output of about 3,000 kilograms per mu, and the total output is expected to reach 1 million kilograms. Although there has been a lot of rain this year, fortunately, the yield per mu has remained stable.

Golden passion fruit has golden skin, juicy flesh, and sweet taste. It is loved by consumers all over the country, and the product is in short supply. The base has a long picking cycle, lasting from summer and autumn to early winter, and the fresh fruits are favored by consumers in the Pearl River Delta.

The person in charge of the base said that now is the peak period for fruit picking, and the harvesting work will continue until December. The picking period will end when the weather turns cold. The current market demand is strong, and the products are mainly sold to the Pearl River Delta region through wholesale and retail. "After the harvest of this batch of fruits is completed, we will seize the opportunity of good weather to carry out weeding operations. Through weeding and loosening the soil, we will do a good job in managing and protecting the fruit trees." said the person in charge of the base.

According to reports, in recent years, Shuibei Village, Dama Town, has made great efforts to develop the specialty fruit and vegetable planting industry based on its local land resource advantages.
