With "two-way empowerment of film and urban IP" as the core, the event brings together representatives from film and television institutions, cultural tourism companies, experts and scholars, etc. to participate in the event. It aims to build a cooperation platform for cities along the Silk Road to display film and television shooting resources, exchange urban imaging experience, and explore IP co-construction paths, and promote the substantive implementation of film creation collaboration and urban IP co-construction.
The event adopts the combination form of "off-site exhibition + scenic spot promotion + industry dialogue", taking into account visual presentation, resource display and ideological collision. A joint exhibition of Silk Road city images is set up outside the venue. It uses an innovative display format of "image + real scene" graphic and text comparison to select classic film and television stills and real-life urban landmark materials along the Silk Road to intuitively show how the lens can tap into the core of regional spirituality, open up the connection between screen art and local culture and tourism, and provide practical examples for film and television filming cooperation and urban IP development.
In the Silk Road movie location promotion session, Gansu, Xinjiang, Shaanxi and other places successively showcased their unique landform endowments, human resources, digital service platforms and industrial support policies.
Gansu has established a dual-track support system of provincial art funds and special film funds, relying on a digital service platform to achieve one-stop processing of crew location selection and resource matching. Qinghai Mangya has rare landforms such as Yadan, salt lakes, industrial sites, and dark night stars. The local area promotes the city's transformation from a filming location to a science fiction IP incubator, explores the application of AIGC and virtual production technology, and strives to create a future-oriented imaging experimental field. Ningxia Shitanjing Cultural Tourism Film and Television Town retains complete industrial and mining relics and old Soviet-style buildings, and has undertaken more than 60 film and television projects. Xinjiang has set up special funds to support and encourage local literature and art, and has sufficient reserves of local film and television talents to ensure the implementation of projects.
Song Qun, director of the Xi'an City Memory Museum, said that the city's most precious treasure is the authenticity of the city's fireworks. "In addition to the grand historical narratives of the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang Dynasties, the city's nearly 100-year-old city life and the living conditions of ordinary people are also worthy of being recorded on camera. This 'sense of living people' is the core that impresses contemporary audiences."
Leng Song, director of the Audiovisual Research Office of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, believes that the first step in building IP for Silk Road cities is to find differentiated positioning. "There is no standard definition of IP. A poem, a name, or even a name given by netizens can become IP as long as it is endowed with story assets and character assets." He proposed that urban IP should rely on stories and emotional memories to extend the duration of tourists' experience and realize the transformation of historical culture into trendy consumption.
On the second day of the event, guests and industry representatives visited Bailuyuan Film and Television City and Xiying Film and Television Base to inspect the construction of Shaanxi Film and Television Base, real-life facilities and IP operations, accurately connect project cooperation demands, and open up the channel from ideological discussion to industrial implementation.
