The European Union plans to expand the sanctions list against Russia

The EU authorities intend to include 1,600 individuals and legal entities in the next package of sanctions against Russia, Politico reports, citing sources.

According to the publication, the new list of restrictions will be one of the largest since 2022.

“The strategy is to use all possible means,” the source said.

The article notes that the issue of using frozen Russian assets has also been raised.

It is expected that sanctions may be adopted at a meeting of EU leaders in October.
